Designed and built with flexibility at its core, our developers can liaise with your team to determine the functionality and implementation strategy for maximum benefit from the proven DMCS engine. You can specify the site style, or our designers can easily base the design on your existing site.
Media can be presented in the most effective way, grouped into galleries and categories. There are no limits to the size of each gallery, and they can be nested to include subgalleries. This highly flexible structure can be tailored for your own specific needs. Categories additionally provide a more direct link to specific content, such as events or individuals. These are all easily created and maintained online by assigned personnel giving you full and immediate control of your media presentation.
Visitors can perform both quick and advanced searches of your imagery, previews of which are available in a range of sizes and customised to match their chosen product purchase. To minimise effort, details of each photograph are automatically extracted from hidden image meta data during the upload process.
Trade and Consumer Functionality
DMCS offers full support for both Business to Business and Business to Consumer functionality. As the requirements for these can differ wildly, multiple site designs (with their own look and feel, product ranges, purchasing procedures, etc) are supported with a common upload and online administration service. This allows site administrators to meet the needs of all customers by uploading and managing content via single interface for instant availability. This fits with the general DMCS ethos of providing a single repository for all your digital media needs.
Product Ranges
There are no restrictions on the number or type of products that can be delivered by DMCS. The commerce engine works equally well with digital based products as it does with more traditional goods and services allowing sites hosted within this architecture to offer a full range of digital and non-digital based items. Products are designed and maintained, with support from Media Storehouse, by the owners of the site.
For typical consumer sites a range of various photographic print sizes (6x4, 10x12, A4, A3 etc.) can be offered along with products based upon video and audio media. Additionally photographic gifts, such as T-Shirts, mouse mats, etc., with or without images, can be supplied from DMCS sites. Pricing for products can be based on product or media, allowing additional or alternative charges for a product dependant on the piece of media associated with it. In addition to retail products, promotional services (including e-cards) are available to attract new customers.
For typical trade sites the product may be a license for reuse of the media and you have full control over which uses are permitted for a piece of licensed media. A series of questions can take the potential licensee to the appropriate product, which again can be based on product or media.
Multi-Lingual Accessibility
DMCS is fully multi-lingual capable, with both text relating to the site and that relating to various products and media being displayed in different languages with a click of a single button. Additional languages can be supported upon request. Similarly descriptions for products and media stored within the repository can have multiple versions in differing languages, with descriptions defaulting to English where no suitable alternative is available.
Alternative currencies can also be supported and the consumer site complies with the UK Disability Discrimination Act for maximum coverage.
Reporting
All site activity is recorded within DMCS and can be reported on in real time. This helps administrators and designers understand user activity within the site to help tune site content to optimise user experience and maximise earning potential. Additionally functionality such as “most popular” media is easy to implement utilising the on line detailed commerce reports.
Site administration is also contained within DMCS, with access rights allowing the same user interface to be used whether a paying customer or a photographer adding media or a site administrator or an accountant identifying sales over a period. Additional reports can be built and added with little effort by Media Storehouse if users find that the standard ones provided are not sufficient.
